On the first European leg of the AC/DC Black Ice Tour they’re playing twice in many cities. Paris was no exception; we had a concert on February 25 and another one two days later.

This time I got into the venue a bit later, so I missed the opening act, The Answer.
AC/DC live in Paris

This time I wasn’t in the pit, but at the balcony.

I just had the time to get a beer, when lights went out and AC/DC’s intro started.
We were shown the movie of Angus making a train derail, then a locomotive appears on stage with fireworks all around: The Rock n’Roll train is here!

The audience was totally crazy.
Everybody stood up on the balcony, everyone at Bercy was headbanging, singing or dancing.

People on the pit were moving from side to side and I just thought “Woah! I was there yesterday! Was it the same?”

Here they were once again!

Brian the singer with the hat;
Angus the duckwalking school boy;
Malcom his swinging brother;
and the guardians of the rhythm, Cliff and Phill.

This time again Hell Ain’t A Bad Place To Be is the second song.
And if Hell is like this, then take to the highway because it really isn’t a bad place!

It’s amazing all the energy this band has on stage. Angus and Brian don’t stop moving. They aged, as every human being on this planet, but they haven’t lost anything musically. The performance was incredible.

AC/DC live in Paris, France - February 27 2009 The show was very similar to the previous one:
Images of a girl dancing during You Shook Me All Night Long;
Fire on the screens and Angus wearing horns during Highway To Hell;
Rosie riding the Rock n’Roll Train locomotive during Whole Lotta Rosie;
Brian hanging on the Hell Bell;
Old pictures and album covers shown on the screen during Let There Be Rock;
AC/DC-flagged ships and planes during War Machine

The only remarkable difference was in the setlist: Anything goes was played earlier in the set.
They played exactly the same songs.

I really was hoping for AC/DC to change a couple of tunes. I know they have played Hard As A Rock and Stiff Upper Lip in some shows, so I really thought that they’ll do one of those on their second Paris gig.

AC/DC live in Paris, France - February 27 2009 Well it didn’t happen, but it doesn’t matter, they were here, touring at last, and this is enough to please me.

Again, what a wonderful rock n’roll night! They’ll come again to Paris in the summer, to play in the Stade de France.
It’s a very big stadium so I really was pleased to see those arena shows this time.
Anyway, AC/DC are finally back, and they really are wonderful!
Don’t think their best years are gone, you’ll see what I mean if you catch one of their shows.
