I was tired after a long flight, but ss soon as I landed in Madrid I rushed to La Riviera to see Anvil and Dirkshneider on stage!
Anvil is a band I love and I'm happy they're touring more and more since the movie was released. As an opening act, the show wasn't very long and they didn't use the full light show, but the crowds were there to support them and sing their songs!
The setlist included several new songs, which is great, as Anvil have been releasing very good albums lately. Daggers and Rum and Badass Rock'n'Roll were definitely among the highlights, but of course they didn't forget to include the all time classics March Of The Crabs and the hymn Metal On Metal!
As usual, Lips went crazy and showed us that you don't only play guitar with your fingers, teeth and dildos are useful too!
Robb Reiner showed once again how a skilled drummer he is, and they were introducing their new bass player, Chris Robertson, who was fits perfectly into the band.
For about an hour, Anvil played
a very good show and put the crowds in the mood for what was to come: a world class Accept-oriented Dirkschneider show!
