Joacim Cans from Hammerfall at Sonisphere Getafe Open Air in Madrid, Spain Bookmark and Share

Hammerfall was the first band to play on saturday at the Sonisphere Festival in Madrid.

That's a little bit eearly for a band with so many good songs, so they were here to prove that their heavy mmetal tunes were alive and well!

From the begining, Hammerfall rocked the stage!
They started with Any Means Necessary, already a classic and a very good opening song I think.

It seems that a lot of people out there was very exciited to see this band! They started to play only 25 minutes after the doors of the festival opened, but there was a lot of people in the pit from the egining of the show.

Joacim Cans asked us if we were ready to party hard with Hammerfall. s everybody screamed he introduced the a song from their latest record: Bang Your Head.
The irony is that the Bang Your Head Festival was taking place on this same weekend... that's kind of playing the right song at the wrong festival ;-)

Fredrik Larson live at the Sonisphere Festival in Madrid

After a great version of Bloodbound, Joacim asked if we liked the Glory To The Brave album. As everyone screamed, he stated that Hammerfall loved Spain too.
he introduced the next tune about keeping heavy Metal in our hearts: Hammerfall!

This was one of the highlights of the show. We had to sing loud and Joacim asked all the "Templars Of Spain" to put our hands in the air... and it was a quite impressive sight, as there was already a lot of people inside!

The setlist included another new song, One More Time, which was also played at the PPM Fest in Belgium a couple of months earlier.
It seems that not may people knew this song so it wasn't the most exciting part of the set, but the band made us clap our hands after the solo so the crowd could enjoy it.

Well, time is short for the opening band at a festival and it was already time for Hammerfall to leave.

Joacim asked 3 questions:
1- How many people was seeing hammerfall for the first time? As a lot of people raised their hads, he replied surprised "Where have you been in the last 14 years??!!".

2- How Many people have seen Hammerfall before? (We were fewer...)

3 - "If I say Let The Hammer, you say..." FALL! Joacim made us scream this word louder and louder before playing that tune!

Pontus Norgren on guitars... say yeah!!!!!!

Hammerfall was a great band to start the festival. This wasn't the best concert I've seen from them, but it was very pleasant to see them in front of such an excited crowd.

I think they should have played later. The following band, Mastodon, really sucked!
There was much more people watching Hammerfall than Mastodon...

The next Hammerfall show will be this fall.
Right now at the Sonisphere Spain the next band was Mastodon but you won't find a reviw from them.
The next good band to playy was Apocalyptica!.
