LORDI
FILharmonie - Filderstadt, Germany

This february I caught Lordi in Filderstadt, not far from Stuttgart, on my way to see Iron Maiden in Serbia.
I was in Stuttgart because with low cost airline German Wings it worked cheaper to fly to Belgrade from there than from home.
And as Lordi was in town, it was agreat opportunity to see them.

I had to meet Douglas at the concert: a guy that finally couldn't go to see Iron Maiden in Belgrade so he sold me his ticket.

The Filderstadt FILharmonie is a very nice venue not far from the train station. It can accomodate up to 2000 people standing. The floor is inclined, so even if you're on the back you can see the everything.

This concert was a big party with Douglas and my friend Marc, who lives nearby. Matt Sinner from Sinner and Primal Fear was attending the show.
Opening acts Silverlane and Fatal Smile were OK, but everyone there was waiting for Lordi.

Lordi did an incredible show full of fireworks, horror scenery and of course great music.
First thing I tought was how much was the current show costing, as they really had some amazing effects... and how can they stand the heat with these costumes and all the pyrotechnics on stage?!!

The sound was excellent and all musicians did a great performace.
The crowds in Germany are generally calm, so there were no pogos and moshings, but lots of headbanging, loud singing... and beer.

Every musician had its own thetrical number:
Drummer Kita decapitated a Samurai;
Bass player OX came walking with a beast;
Guitar Player Amen came as an Egyptian Pharaoh with a strange speak while reading a book;
Awa then killed (again) a couple of dead dancers and made evryone scream right before Hard Rock Hallelujah.
...And of course Mr Lordi did lots of things, including a surgery and bringing a bloody chainsaw!
