The Quireboys live at the Bang Your Head

The Quireboys is a pure rock'n'roll band, and I was so happy to learn that they were playing at the Bang Your Head Festival!!!.

Guy Griffin from The Quireboys live in Balingen

Every time I've seen The Quireboys on a festival, Twisted Sister were playing too.
The first time I saw The Quireboys was in Spain in 2003 with Twisted Sister. The second was at Milan's Rock Of Ages in 2008, also with Twisted Sister.
And now in 2008, they were sharing the stage again, at one of my favourites faestivals!

Paul Guerin from The Quireboys live in Balingen

The Quireboys had a backdrop with the name of the band and a rose.
As soon as they hit the stage we knew that we were in for a hour of good rock'n'roll!

Those guys have a great feeling. It's not really a metal band, but they managed to make most people in the audience dance and sing their tunes!

Damon Williams from The Quireboys live at the Bang Your Head

The setlist was quite strange, as they only played some of their heaviest songs.
We didn't have Mona Lisa Smiled or Roses and Rings. But they also didn't play some favouriutes like Hey You or Sex Party.

Well, they can't play them all in a festival, The Quireboys have so many good songs to play such short concerts!

Spike from The Quireboys live at the Bang Your Head

The Quireboys also did a tribute to Ronnie James Dio with an unexpected song: Starstruck, from the album Rainbow Rising.

Spike
was dressed as usual as a dandy. hea teased the audience with his dance, he made us clap our hands, and a lucky front row girl even got his harmonica.

Guitars! Guy Griffin and Paul Guerin from The Quireboys live at the Bang Your Head

Guy Griffin and Paul Guerin made us swing with their solos, riffs and melodies, while Keith Weir gives the bluesy colour so characteristic of the Quireboys music.

Phil Martini was unchained, he looked like he wanted to get out of his drumkit and come to the front of the stage.

Damon Williams is not considered a full member of The Quireboys, but with his white clothes and his smooth playing I think he fits very well in ythe band.

Spike from The Quireboys live at the Bang Your Head The show ended at 6pm with a powerful verion of 7 O'Clock! I wouldn't have minded if The Quireboys to play for one more hour...

After their rock'n'roll show, I wasn't really in the mood for the next band: Queensrÿche.
