THE ANSWER

This was the first time I was attending a concert by the Irish rock band The Answer!
I knew this band because they toured with AC/DC in 2009, opening the gigs in Bercy and the Stade the France, but I missed them all three times. Shit happens!

Tonight was also my first time in La Maroquinerie, a small underground (in every sense of the word) venue in the 20th district of Paris.

Well, I was pleased to discover a band that breathes power and Rock'n'roll!
Seriously, I wasn't expecting anything particular from this gig, but I have to say they they rocked the place!

The Answer had just released new album called Revival. 7 out of the 14 songs on the setlist were from that album, and they really pass the test on stage. But of course they didn't forget the hits from their first album, Rise.

The Answer might still be considered a yound band, but they actually have been around for nearly 10 years, and this can easily be seen when they're on stage.

Singer Cormac Neeson recalled the first time that The Answer played in Paris, and it was here, at La Maroquinerie. He said it was some kind of an indie night,
and also said something about a cello.

When Cormac answer who attended that gig, only two people raised their hands! Well, the price they won was that the song Nowhere Freeway was dedicated to them. They played a great version, introduced as "the closest to a ballad that we'll ever get".

During the song Preachin', Cormac and Paul got down into the pit and played in the middle of the crowds. That was a fun moment to get up close and personal with the band.

Not lon after that, Cormac mmade us sing One More Revival several times with our hands in the air, until the choir of the crowd sounded perfectly well.

The sound was really good, especially fo a small venue. Also, the place was packed, and that's the proof that The Answer has a ggood fanbase in this city.

Besides a poor lightshow, which is quite normal for a small stage, I don't have any negative comments about tonight's show.

Well, that's how a good rock'n'roll evening ended. I'll keep an eye on this band. I knew they were good, but tonight they surpassed my expectations!
