TWISTED SISTER
Rock Of Ages Festival / A September To Remember
Palasharp - Milan, Italy
September 13, 2008

Previous Twisted Sister gig
You can't stop Rock n'roll: Twisted Sister live in Milan I went to the Rock Of Ages festival mostly for Twisted Sister.
It's a great live act. I’ll never get tired of saying this: Dee Snider is one of the best frontmen in the whole Rock n’Roll history.

I hadn’t seen them since 2004, so when I saw they were playing here a Saturday I didn’t hesitate to go.
This was also the first time I saw Twisted Sister indoors, as all the previous times were on outdoors summer festivals.

Twisted Sister was celebrating a 25th Anniversary. But it was not the 25th Anniversary of the band, which started in 1972... 36 years ago!
It was the 25th Anniversary of their classic album You Can’t Stop Rock n’Roll.
It’s great reason to make a tour, and they still don’t need a brand new album to play big venues around the globe.

They had a big backdrop with the name of that album, an of course played quite a few songs form it.

The Quireboys, Duff McKagan’s Loaded and Extreme were all good at the festival, but when Twisted Sister comes on stage, there’s absolutely no doubt about who is the headliner!

Good lights, great sound, all the glamorous and colourful clothes… and that feeling you can’t describe.
Mark Mendoza and Jay Jay French from Twisted Sister live in Milano, September 2008 They played We’re Not Gonna Take it quite early on the setlist, and did a great and long version, with real solos from both, Jay Jay French and Eddie “Fingers” Ojeda.

This song is always a special moment, and everyone keeps singing the chorus on and on...

At the end of We're Not Gonna Take It Dee said “some bands play their best known songs at the end, so maybe you’re wondering why we play we’re not gonna take it at the beginning. If you came to this show only to hear we’re not gonna take it, well get the f*** out! We don’t people that came to hear just we’re not gonna take it, we want people that came to see Twisted Sister!”
Eddie "Fingers Ojeda" and Dee Snider live in Milan And the mass had been said! Of course none left the venue.

When you put this words in the mouth of such a public speaker, which plays in such a great live act, you can only agree with him.
So you raise your hand, you scream, and when Dee says “One More Time!”, then you start to sing the chorus of We’re Not Gonna Take It again!

An unforgettable moment!
Mark "The Animal Mendoza playing live in Milan, september 2008 Dee also dedicated the ballad The Price to his wife, who was watching the show from the mixing table.
Twisted Sister rocking Milan, September 2008 A good surprise came by the end of the show.
Twisted Sister were joint on stage by the guys from Extreme on choruses, for an incredible and 10 minute long version of I Wanna Rock.

Well it was an amazing concert from all points of view. To my friend Ricardo it was his first Twisted Sister concert and of course he loved it.
